2001

Excellent Condition Heritage Cherry Sunburst Finish 2001 Gibson Les Paul Classic 1960 Reissue – NO RESERVE - FREE SHIPPING (CONUS) - GREAT DEAL! What we got here…is a genuine 2001 Gibson Les Paul Classic in excellent condition. When I was looking for my first Les Paul, I fell in love with this one for all the right reasons. It sounds like a great Les Paul with plenty of honk and squawk, it has one of the nicest slim depth necks ever that is comfy to play without cramping, the action is so low (without fret buzz) that even 10’s play and feel like 9’s, it is not that heavy, and it has great color…which rivals many high-end Gibson (pink back) Historics that were released a couple of years back. Digital cameras don’t really capture the bright golden maple amber center with the rich cherry sunburst edges as well as in person. It is stunning! And there is just a hint of flame figuring behind the tailpiece that shimmers at different angles. It looks like a 1960 Les Paul to me, and it has the correct style ABR1 bridge. Unlike newer Classics, these were constructed with a one-piece mahogany body back with a great deep cherry red finish. The neck is also one piece mahogany with a beautiful red finish. The stock pickups are very good tonewise, and deliver plenty of gain. It will wake up any amp if you "crank it up"! But the pickups sound clear at lower levels too. No mud here! The neck pickup is one of Gibson’s best for clarity (496R neck / 500T bridge). It does well from classic rock/blues to modern metal and everything in-between. I have cleaned and polished it with Virtuoso premium polish (all I use). I also cleaned the fretboard with lemon oil and installed brand new Elixir 10 - 46 strings that will last you up to a year without loosing their edge with proper care (a wipedown behind each string after each session). It is fully setup. The truss rod is set at the best tension for year-round dry/humid play, and the neck is as straight as can be and has very low action. There are NO ISSUES with this guitar, such as cracks or breaks. The frets have little to no wear. The pickups were carefully dialed in for maximum string definition, balance and tone (I’m meticulous about this…sounds as good as you can get it). If you really want to blow your mind, drop some Tom Holmes pickups in it (eek!). Anyway, I took extremely good care of this guitar, as I do all of my guitars. You could call me obsessive about cleaning after every session. There are very minor signs of play on the back (see pictures), such as any guitar that has been around for 10 years. No dings on the headstock! It looks new. I do not smoke, but it did gig some. Overall, as you can see, very clean shape. So if it is so nice, why am I selling it? I have held out all these years for a "Historic" Les Paul that had everything I wanted in a vintage looking flametop. I finally found one. My time has come. These are not cheap! I tried many that couldn’t beat the sound of this Classic, and took a pass on all of them, but one just came along with everything I wanted in a Historic super-flametop reissue. It took this long! It was a tough choice, as I get sentimental over guitars I really bond with, but I can’t afford to keep both. You should love this Classic as much as I did...and I hope you will. It’s a sweetheart! I have documented this guitar as well as I can, so all sales are final. I have 100% feedback because I’m an honest seller who does right by people, but only bid if you intend on paying for the guitar within set terms. Payment is expected within 5 days, otherwise I reserve the right to re-list the item. I will pay for the shipping and it will be well packed and insured. The sooner I receive payment, the sooner it will ship. The original Gibson USA case (shown) is included. Sorry…I WILL NOT SHIP OUT OF THE LOWER 48 STATES. It gets too complicated and expensive. Thank you for understanding. And thank you for looking. Good luck on the bidding!
