Rare 1989 Epiphone Les Paul Standard – 95% Picture(s) and Description:

Rare

What we have here is a beautifully made 1989 Epiphone Les Paul Standard, honeyburst, made in September 1989, production number 2315, MIK. It features the original tapered open book headstock, solid mahogany body, flamed maple top, rosewood fingerboard and trapezoid inlays. This model also includes the longer transitional tenon, preventing the headstock from snapping off as is common in today’s models. This is RARE. How rare? Try to find another one on eBay or craigslist. It is the first year Epiphone made the LP Standard under license from Gibson. The last photograph in the bunch is from a 1989 Epiphone print ad. I’ve been playing guitar for thirty years, and this Epi is a player. Its finish is still super glossy, its sound is warm, thick and crispy, its electronics are solid, solid, solid. The sustain is wonderful. (Like Nigel says, "You can go and get a bite and still be hearing that one".) Everything is stock. Of course, being over twenty years old, it has a few minor scratches and dings, but I mean MINOR. Out of the case it weighs 8.6 pounds and, in the case, 15 pounds. The action is amazingly low with no fret buzz. Frets are crisp with virtually zero ware. (I’m a soft player.) How honest is my description? Check my feedback. It comes with its original hard-shell case. Shipping anywhere in the lower 48 states will be $50.00.
